GSIA Meetings

Future

October 2, 2018, Noon - 1:30 PM

Program: 40th Annual Welcome Banquet and Lecture

In honor of the Illinois Bicentennial Year of celebrations, we will be developing a twenty-foot long timeline of spiritual and religious events in Springfield. It will then be presented to staff of the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum.

We encourage you to bring a separate sticky note for up to five significant religious/spiritual events in the history of Springfield. In addition to naming and dating each event, note such things as:

  • When your congregation/organization began in Springfield?
  • Where you were originally located?
  • Where you are located now?
  • Why you came to Springfield?
  • What propelled the growth of your congregation/institution?

Feel free to bring a copy of your congregation's/institutions's history if you have one. It will also be shared with representatives of the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Musuem along with the timeline.
