GSIA Meetings

The GSIA typically has its monthly meetings on the first Tuesday of the month. Members and guests tend to arrive around 11:30 to 11:45, bringing their own lunches, and socializing before the speaker begins. The program then starts at noon, and usually runs until 1:30. There are no general meetings in July or August.

Meet at the Abraham Lincoln Unititarian Universalist Congregation to hear  Nancy Sage, Executive Director of the Jewish Federation speak on topics related to anti-semitism and responses to anti-semitism.

Events or meetings that GSIA is aware of, that might be of interest to the Springfield Interfaith community.     

  • Violins of Hope
    A Display of Violins.  
    Thursday, September 7 to Wednesday, September 13, 2023 in the Illinois State Museum (9:00 to 4:30 Monday to Saturday, and noon to 4:30 on Sunday).
  • Violins of Hope Concerts and Events
    Hosted by: Jewish Federation and the Illinois State Museum (GSIA is a co-sponsor). Learn more about Violins of Hope.  
    Thursday the 7th of September, the opening recital at the Illinois State Museum (6:30pm). The concert is free, but please RSVP.  
  • Friday the 8th of September,  String quartet from the Illinois Symphony Orchestra performing at Temple Israel at noon.
  • Sunday the 10th of September at 2:00 and 4:30 in the afternoon, Music of Survival Concerts at the UIS Performing Arts Center.
  • Tuesday the 12th of September, an educational recital at Lincoln Land Community College Trutter Hall (10:00am). 
  • Wednesday the 13th of September, the final concert at the Hoogland Center for the Arts at 6:30pm. 
  • Humanitarian of the Year Award
    Hosted by: Greater Springfield Interfaith Association
    Sunday, November 19, 2023 in the evening.
